A 7-wood is one option to compare when a long iron is difficult to launch or leaves an awkward distance gap. Its suitability depends on your strike, carry distance and the shots you need to play.
Lofts vary by model. Read the manufacturer’s specifications rather than assuming a universal 7-wood loft. During a fitting, compare it with your existing clubs and a hybrid, including shots from the fairway and rough.
