Golfclub Gastein

Bad Gastein, Tyrol & Salzburg, Austria

Golfclub Gastein is an 18-hole course positioned at the gateway to the Hohe Tauern National Park in the spa valley of Bad Gastein. The layout combines even front-nine fairways with tighter, more demanding back-nine holes, set among age-old trees and the natural Au forest. One curiosity unique to the Salzburg province is a thermal water fountain on the course, fed by the valley's mineral-rich springs. The club's history dates to 1960 and the course was expanded to its current 18-hole configuration in 2002. The combination of thermal heritage, national park surroundings and a well-maintained layout gives Gastein a distinct identity among alpine golf destinations.
