Bochumer Golf Club e.V.

Rhine-Ruhr, Germany

Bochumer Golf Club occupies terrain shaped by ancient river terraces south of Bochum, with elevation changes of up to 50 metres giving the 18-hole layout a topographic interest unusual for the Ruhr region. The first nine holes are comparatively open and flatter, bordered by out-of-bounds margins that demand accuracy off the tee; the back nine moves into more wooded territory with slopes, bunkers and the visual variety of old mixed forest and open orchard meadows. Protected wet biotopes add an ecological dimension to the course and contribute to its varied character. The result is a course that rewards players who take time to understand its geography rather than simply applying standard Ruhr-region expectations to a layout built on genuinely distinctive ground.
