Niederrheinischer Golfclub Duisburg e.V.

Rhine-Ruhr, Germany

The Niederrheinischer Golfclub Duisburg is one of the older clubs in the region, founded in 1953 and playing over a nine-hole course laid out in 1956 near the Sechs-Seen-Platte — a chain of lakes formed from former gravel extraction sites in southern Duisburg. The parkland layout at par 36 plays just over 3,000 yards and has earned a reputation, perhaps surprisingly for a nine-hole venue, as one of the most attractive shorter courses in western Germany. Mature trees, well-established greens and the proximity of open water lend the course a character that more than compensates for its modest length. Visitors are welcome on most days, though the club maintains a traditional approach to etiquette and expects the usual standards of conduct.
