Le Madonie Golf
Sicily, Italy
Le Madonie Golf occupies a sweeping hillside site near Collesano in the Madonie Natural Park of northern Sicily, roughly halfway between Palermo and the coastal town of Cefalù. The 18-hole, par-72 course was designed by Luigi Rota Caremoli and plays to just over 6,000 yards, set within a landscape of more than 5,000 trees including ancient olive groves, orange and lemon orchards, and native carob trees. Five artificial lakes introduce water hazards across the layout, while extensive bunkering adds further definition to the fairways and greens. The course carries a course rating of 71.2 and rewards measured, strategic play. Practice facilities are notably strong, with a 26-bay driving range — seven bays covered — alongside a putting green, chipping green, and pitching area. The Madonie mountains form a dramatic backdrop throughout the round, and the course is open to visiting players, making it a worthwhile stop for golfers exploring the northern Sicilian interior.
