Golfclub Zeewolde

Netherlands, Netherlands

Golfclub Zeewolde is set in the youngest polder in the Netherlands, the Flevopolder in Flevoland province, on land reclaimed from the IJsselmeer during the twentieth century. The course therefore sits on some of the flattest and most geometrically rational terrain imaginable, a product of Dutch hydraulic engineering at its most ambitious. Wide open fairways, minimal natural elevation, and the vast skies characteristic of this reclaimed land give Zeewolde a distinctive spacious feel. The proximity of the Horsterwold, one of the largest deciduous forests in Western Europe, provides green surroundings and occasional tree cover. The club serves the planned town of Zeewolde and the wider Flevoland community, offering solid golfing facilities in a uniquely Dutch setting that reminds every visitor how much of this country exists only because of human ingenuity.
