Pinheiros Altos sits in the Ria Formosa Natural Park on the eastern edge of Almancil, threading through umbrella pines and cork oaks that give the course a sense of quiet seclusion. Designed by Ronald Fream and later refined, the layout rewards precise shot-making over raw power — fairways corridor through mature woodland and several holes skirt the marshland fringe of the nature reserve. The greens tend to be firm and fast, demanding a deft short game. A separate nine-hole par-3 academy course adds options for warm-up or a lighter round.
