Svartinge Golfklubb

Stockholm and Gothenburg, Sweden

Svartinge Golf Club occupies a densely wooded estate in Sollentuna, north of Stockholm, and ranks among the more exclusive private clubs in the Stockholm region. The 18-hole course, designed by Peter Nordwall and opened in the early 2000s, is routed through a varied forest landscape of considerable drama, with bold bunkering and large, contoured greens that reward both creativity and discipline. The front nine threads tightly through established woodland, while the back nine opens onto more varied terrain incorporating water hazards. Access is restricted to members and invited guests, giving the club an intimate, unhurried character that contrasts with the larger public-access venues around the capital. The course rating places it firmly in the upper tier of Swedish parkland tests.
