Fontane Course

Berlin & Brandenburg, Germany

The Fontane Course is one of two 18-hole layouts at Der Märkische Golf Club, situated west of Potsdam in the gently rolling Brandenburg countryside. The club takes its names from the region’s cultural heritage: Fontane honours the celebrated 19th-century Brandenburg writer Theodor Fontane, whose rambling accounts of the Mark Brandenburg remain classics of German literature. The course plays through a characteristic landscape of open heathland and light forest, where wind direction can significantly influence club selection. Together with the Lenné Course, it gives the club a substantial 36-hole offering that accommodates members and visitors with separate itineraries.
