Old Course
Troon, Ayrshire, Scotland
Royal Troon's Old Course is one of the great championship links of the world and a cornerstone of the Open Championship rota. Stretching along the Ayrshire coast between the town of Troon and the sea, the course combines outward holes running downwind with a demanding inward nine played directly into the prevailing south-westerly. The par-3 eighth, known as the Postage Stamp, is one of the most celebrated short holes in golf — a tiny, heavily bunkered green that has both destroyed and defined careers. The course has hosted the Open Championship numerous times, producing champions across generations. Fast-running links turf, deep pot bunkers, and unforgiving rough make Royal Troon's Old Course a true examination of ball-striking and course management at the highest level.
