Golf de Guérande

Brittany, France

Golf de Guérande is set near the fortified medieval town of Guérande in Loire-Atlantique, historically part of the duchy of Brittany and today within the pays de la Loire administrative region. The course occupies the wetland-fringe and inland territory near the famous Guérande salt marshes, one of the most distinctive landscapes in western France. The proximity to the salt pans and the Atlantic horizon gives the club an atmospheric, low-lying character quite unlike the bocage courses of inland Brittany. The medieval ramparts of Guérande town, the glamorous resort of La Baule just down the coast and the wild nature reserve of Brière are all within easy reach, making this a course richly embedded in one of the Atlantic coast's most celebrated destinations.
