Golf courses in Brittany

Brittany offers some of the most atmospheric golf in France, a rugged peninsula where the Atlantic wraps around granite headlands, pine woods and wide sandy bays. With around 47 courses, this is a region rich enough to fill an entire holiday, and its golf carries a distinctly maritime character: salt in the air, shifting light off the sea, and the kind of wind that asks for a lower, smarter ball flight. The coastline is the star. Golf de Pléneuf Val André runs spectacularly along the cliffs of the Côtes-d'Armor, while Golf des Abers and Golf de la baie de Morlaix make the most of the indented Finistère shore. For something genuinely different, Golf de Belle-Isle en Mer sits out on its island, reached by ferry and rewarded with views few courses can match. Inland, parkland layouts such as Golf de la Freslonnière give a gentler, sheltered alternative when the coast blows hard. Brittany suits the golfer who wants more than fairways: seafood and cider, Celtic harbours and walled towns, and a green, unhurried landscape. Spring through autumn is the sweet spot, when the days are long and the courses at their best.
