Golf de la Freslonnière

Brittany, France

Golf de la Freslonnière is a par-72 course of considerable pedigree set within a historic estate near Le Rheu, on the western fringes of Rennes. The 18-hole layout, which opened in 1989, winds through a 60-hectare park centred on a château whose grounds date back over 800 years. Century-old trees, rhododendron banks, and carefully positioned water hazards define the character of the course, which stretches to 5,650 metres and carries a slope rating of 143 — challenging without being punitive. The parkland setting insulates players from Breton winds, making it playable year-round in comfortable conditions. A hotel within the château, a well-regarded restaurant, and comprehensive practice facilities make La Freslonnière one of the most complete golf destinations in the Rennes area.
