Golf courses in Costa Brava

The Costa Brava, on Catalonia's northeastern coast, is one of Spain's most appealing golf regions for travellers who want variety without the crowds of the southern resorts. Around eight courses are spread between the rugged, pine-covered coastline and the gentler inland plains towards the Pyrenees foothills, so a week here can mix seaside settings with cooler, greener parkland. The standout is Camiral Golf and Wellness near Caldes de Malavella, whose Stadium Course and Tour Course have hosted top professional golf, while Peralada Golf Club, Torremirona and Club Golf d'Aro each bring their own character, from vineyard surroundings to elevated views over the coast.

The climate is classic Mediterranean, with a long and comfortable season running well into autumn and mild enough to play through much of the winter. For the travelling golfer, the Costa Brava's real strength is balance: serious championship golf at Camiral alongside relaxed, scenic rounds, all within easy reach of the medieval villages, beaches and Catalan cuisine of the region, and just a short drive from Girona and Barcelona. It rewards those who want their golf paired with genuine culture, good food and a coastline that has kept much of its wild character.
