Golf courses in Mallorca

Mallorca is one of the Mediterranean's most complete golf islands, with around 21 courses scattered from the pine-clad coast to the foot of the Tramuntana mountains. The variety is the joy of it: dramatic cliff-top and bayside settings, gentle inland valleys and resort layouts strung along the western and northern shores. Club de Golf Alcanada, set on its own headland in the bay of Alcúdia, is among the island's most admired venues, while the twin Santa Ponça courses anchor the busy south-west and Son Muntaner and Son Gual offer mature, well-regarded golf in the rolling country near Palma.

For the travelling golfer, Mallorca is hard to beat as a winter and shoulder-season destination. The mild Mediterranean climate keeps courses in play through the cooler months, when northern Europe is frozen, and the island's compact size means a week can comfortably take in several contrasting layouts from a single base. Easy flight links, a long coastline of beaches and coves, and the food and culture of Palma make it as much a holiday as a golf trip. Whether you want clifftop drama, sea views or a relaxed parkland round in the sun, Mallorca delivers golf with a genuine sense of place.
